How to configure form location and custom attachment storage

This feature is still in beta mode as we are trying to catch up with the security aspects of having a separate custom storage. Please use it and let us know if you have any questions.

Secure Forms takes your data security to next level by giving you the ability to host your secure form along with your attachments in your own custom locations. To use this feature, the system admin has to configure the same in the app setting as mentioned in the steps below.

  • Go to Settings >> Apps at the top right corner in Jira.

  • Click on Data Management option under the SECURE FORMS DATA CONFIGURATION

Once here, you can see a +Data button, hit that and we can setup custom Form Location and Attachment Storage here.

We can configure two types of storage in Secure form -

Note -
If your database server is in restricted network, you might not be able to publicly access the server. You can ask your Infra or IT team to whitelist ‘Secure Forms’ server IP to your Database server to solve this problem. You can find this IP, while configuring the storage in the app. Once you have taken note of the IP, follow steps listed at the link to whitelist the same - Link

Also - Each project can have only one storage and one form location entries.

  1. Form Location
If you want to store the form which you have created along with its filled data like form configuration, submitted responses, form audit logs in your own database, all you have to do is fill in the details mentioned in the form.
Select the projects you want to configure, and then provide the details to connect and save the form.

  1. Attachment Storage
Store all your attachments in you our own custom location. Fill the form and fill in the details for AWS, Azure and Goggle Cloud and link it with your specific projects.
