Let's get those formulas in place and start getting those numbers in.

Although natively Jira is not able to get this data for you, with some customization and configurations, we’d help you calculate these pointers. To know in depth about calculations: Earned Value Management

This is how a beautifully configured EVM would look like:

To configure:

  1. Click on three dots and click on Configure.

  1. Click on “Edit” to get started with editing.

  1. Planned start date and planned completion date have an impact on Planned Value, while Issue completion affects Earned Value.

  2. Currently, progress calculation relies on the "Status" of an issue, such as Backlog, Selected for Development, Done, etc. The calculation based on due dates will be implemented soon.

  3. In cases where multiple statuses indicate completion, you can specify them in the "Select done statuses" section and choose the relevant ones from your workflow.

  4. Once the configuration is finalized, remember to save the changes by clicking on "Save Changes".
